MakeMusic is teaming up with the Canadian Brass to host the Canadian Brass Solo Contest, open to musicians ages 13-18. The winner will receive a 30-minute Skype session with a member of Canadian Brass, a set of the newly released Canadian Brass Mouthpiece Collection for the winner’s school, and a selection of swag from both MakeMusic and Canadian Brass.
the challenge
Using a free SmartMusic trial subscription, contestants play along with Albinoni’s Adagio, playing any one of the monophonic instruments supported by SmartMusic. Voice and polyphonic instruments (including guitar and keyboards) are not permitted. Using SmartMusic, contestants can record as many takes as they like and choose the best one to submit. The final winners will be selected based on the quality of his or her musical performance, as determined by MakeMusic and the Canadian Brass.
