SmartMusic Repertoire Update: July 2018

If you and your students use new or classic SmartMusic, you’ve seen the carousel. Visible from either SmartMusic’s homepage, the carousel serves up collections of SmartMusic repertoire you can scroll through, similar to the way you might peruse movies and TV shows on Netflix.

Lately we’ve been bringing new options to the carousel more quickly, all in an effort to help keep students engaged. Among the recent additions is “Winter in July,” which may partially explain the picture above.

This option lets you see all of our most popular winter-themed choral, string orchestra, band, jazz band, and solo titles all in one place.

Why Now?

While the general public might wonder why we’d feature these pieces in July, educators know that summer is the perfect time to select repertoire for the upcoming school year. So to help, we’re making it easy for you (and your students) to preview and play these titles in SmartMusic.

Other recent carousel additions include “Summer Picnic” (featuring titles that are food-related ala Watermelon Man), and “Renaissance,” which greatly simplifies finding renaissance music within the vast SmartMusic Repertoire Library.

Off the Carousel

In addition to expanding the carousel, we continue to add new music to SmartMusic. This month we added seven large ensemble titles exclusive to new SmartMusic, and nine large ensemble titles available in both new and classic SmartMusic. View the complete list of additions.

Don’t Have New SmartMusic Yet?

New SmartMusic now includes exclusive ensemble titles and method books, on-screen music for solo titles, a built-in music notation tool for educators, and the ability to upload MusicXML files and create full accompaniments. Annual pricing is $39.99/teacher and as low as $13.99/student.

Best of all, you can try it for free.
