Finding Music in SmartMusic 2010

The first thing you’ll notice about SmartMusic 2010 is the new Find Music interface. This is the result of extensive surveys, focus groups, and home visits where we discovered that many SmartMusic users were unaware of the vast repertoire included with SmartMusic. The new Find Music lets you browse through categories (method books, solos, band and orchestra music, and others) or use the Quick Search to search for a specific piece or composer.

Upon reviewing your search results you can now click “Download for Later” to download any piece in the background while you continue searching. Once you’ve downloaded music, it will be saved to the computer you’re working from, and you can review what you’ve saved in the “On This Computer” area on the left side of your screen. Click “Home” (in the upper-left corner) to return to the full SmartMusic catalog for more searching.

These improvements mean it’s now much faster to preview what’s in SmartMusic: I’m pretty sure you’ll discover some music you didn’t know we had available. If you don’t see a piece and would like us to add it, please share your requests with us at: /FindMusic/Request.aspx.
