Though my heart is full of song, and I’ve often fantasized about being able to translate my thoughts and feelings into music that I can sing and share, the fear of exposure always gets to me—songwriting is a visceral fear. And I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.
Well, never fear! My outstanding guests today, Kat Reinhart and Sarah Gulish, aim to rescue us all from the fear of music creation and coach us through the process—for ourselves and for our students. In this interview, we talk about why songwriting isn’t always part of our core curriculum, how it aligns with the curriculum that we do have, how to fit it into our lives, and how to overcome our inhibitions and become the songwriters we always wanted to be.
