SmartMusic Feature Friday: Practice Tools Shortcuts

Practice Tools Shortcuts

In today’s SmartMusic Feature Friday, you will learn about the practice tools shortcuts that give you quick access to the tuner, metronome and virtual keyboard.

One of the great features of SmartMusic is the suite of common practice tools that help musicians improve their skills. It is not necessary to have a separate hardware device on hand or the need to open an app on your mobile device.

To open all Practice Tools at the same time, click on the Practice Tools icon in the left navigation panel.

The practice tools can be quickly accessed separately as well.

To access an individual practice tool:

  • Go the menu and select Help. You will see various commands including accessing the above mentioned practice tools.
  • You can select the practice tool you want from this menu but a much quicker way is to use the shortcut provided in the menu.

To use a shortcut:

  • Press the Command key for the Mac or the Control key for a PC

Plus

  • The letter of the tool you want to open:

‘T’ for the tuner

Tuner open

‘M’ for the metronome

Metronome Open

‘K’ for the Keyboard

Kboard open

A quick note: a digital recorder is available in the suite of practice tools but there is no shortcut for it.

Being able to open the practice tools when you need them is very beneficial. I hope this helps you use SmartMusic more efficiently!
